Internship Opportunity Available for an Apparel/Fashion Designer

About Osrick Ingredients Cricket (OIC) - We are a male apparel company with an online boutique. OIC is a gentleman’s brand that has utilized the game of cricket as a focal point in cultivating and developing apparel for the man who follows the sport, as well as the one who simply identifies with the sport’s lifestyle. OIC’s apparel represents a creative clash between classic European and urban sophisticated designs; ready-to-wear apparel, while still grasping the look and feel of customization. We manufacture apparel and accessories for the male demographic that spans from New York to London!

Designer’s Purpose – Intern will work closely with and assist the Senior Designer and/or CEO of OIC as they create designs and CADs for the upcoming season. This is a no pay position; credits are available based on the intern’s school policies.

Duration of Assignment – The internship requires a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 15 hours per week. The entire duration of the internship can last a minimum of three and a maximum of six months, unless otherwise determined prior to start date. If interested, there is a possibility for permanent hire after intern’s graduation.

Designer’s Responsibilities – Will assist in creating digital sample designs, finding suppliers, choosing materials, and predicting future trends. They will assist in developing themes, color, fabrications, silhouettes, and mood for upcoming season. They will also assist in developing original textiles and patterns for manufacturers, conduct material research, and market research. Apparel designs include but are not limited to sport coats, trousers, tees, Oxford style shirts, sweaters, polo style shirts, ties, and other accessories.

Skills/Qualifications – Must be currently enrolled in a related field at an accredited college or university. The ability to complete flat drawings/sketches for design and prototypes preferred. Must be able to meet deadlines and work in a team environment; have strong organizational skills and great attention to detail; have strong listening, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; have good problem solving skills; MUST have experience using Photoshop and Illustrator; and prefer some knowledge of CAD.

Purpose – Intern will assist with OIC’s social media marketing efforts. Please note: This is a no pay position; credits are available based on the intern’s school policies.

Responsibilities –

            ***Learn the ins and outs of OIC; in doing so the intern will make all of our social media a productive part of our overall marketing efforts

            ***Must have critical thinking skills; should be able to think strategically and determine what marketing strategies will benefit the brand; will formulate social media plans and carry them out

            ***Will create and/or update profiles and pages (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, blog etc.); this will include creating and uploading social media backgrounds; posting new and updated information, stories, quotes, etc.; upload videos and photos; and communicate with followers

            ***Will assist in growing our followers by getting users to follow, like, and befriend us via our social media sites

            ***Must have the ability to build relationships with our followers

            ***Will measure and document the impact of social media and improve where needed

            ***Expected to be able to recognize and report issues, complaints, etc. to the team

Skills/Qualifications –

            ***Must be currently enrolled in a related field at an accredited college or university

            ***Must be able to meet deadlines and work in a team environment

            ***Must have strong organizational skills and great attention to detail; and strong listening, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

            ***Strong editing skills

            ***Good problem solving skills

            ***A ‘creative’ eye for design

            ***Knowledge of digital media software such as Photoshop or other graphic design software

            ***Knowledge of video editing software such as Windows Live Movie Maker

            ***Knowledge of social media such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.

            ***Willingness to create vlogs, write press releases and post on social media daily

            ***Ability and willingness to come up with fresh ideas to assist in growing OIC’s online presence

            ***Ability to identify target market

            ***Experience in proofreading and editing

            ***Ability and willingness to contribute individually and as a team player
